On the 3rd june 2016, The Strenue Trust and king Edward VII School will be hosting an assembly for Grade 8 Parents in the King Edwards VII School Auditorium. Guests are welcome to arrive from 07:00, to join us for coffee and a light breakfast. The Trust Assembly will start promptly at 07:30, lasting about 50 minutes, with additional coffee served for an opportunity for questions and conversation. This is a great opportunity to hear about the Strenue Trust and meet the board as well as fellow parents of the Grade 8 class.

The purpose of this Trust Assembly is to welcome our parent community to the Schools. An Assembly is a great forum to deliver our updates, and hopefully inspire our audience into various actions. We hope the outcome of this will be a more enlightened and engaged community, that will return for more School and Trust events, and spread the King Edward Educational Trust word far and wide!

Assembly Topics:

A welcome from the Schools:

Mr Lovatt, the Headmaster of King Edward VII School will welcome the Assembly, and provide an update of KEPS and KES, and their successes and challenges operating in the public education environment.

An update from the Trust:

Chairman of the Strenue Trust and Old Boy (1992), Orrin Klopper, will represent the Trust by providing an update on our actions, and how we are working towards securing the future of the Schools, while preserving the tradition and ethos that the King Edward VII School is most well known.

The Launch of Strenue:

Our commitment to mobilising and engaging the King Edward community led us to Angie Lanham-Love, BBBEE expert (Lanham-Love Consulting) and grade 9 mother at the School. Angie and her firm guided KEET in establishing a vehicle that will provide numerous benefits to King Edward Preparatory School (KEPS), King Edward VII School (KES), and ultimately public education. The Strenue Trust is aligned with the KEET Vision: to secure support that allows KEPS & KES to remain as beacons of excellence and incubators of future leaders, simultaneously making a meaningful impact on public education in South Africa through educator development.

TST was inspired by a deep belief that access to quality public education will bring continuous, positive and long-lasting change to South Africa. The founders of the Trust hope to secure the future of our country, by responding to a challenged public education system through the provision of bursaries and scholarships for previously disadvantaged citizens. Outside of reliance on Educational Foundations and personal donations, we hope to fund our bursary programs through Business and corporate contributions, in the form of Socio-Economic Development spend.

Strenue Ventures (Pty) Ltd:

King Edward Old Boys are well renowned for their positions as leaders in their industries. It is from this that the founders of Strenue Ventures (Strenue) placed focused on enterprise, which grew into a company focus on developing skills and supporting entrepreneurship in South Africa.
Outside of our commitment to developing skills and enterprise, Strenue was created to source new funding opportunities, while providing corporate donors with various BBBEE solutions.
